COUNT TO THREE LYRICS

Count to Three

The city streets are paved with tears

Frozen dreams and wasted years

The highway lights splash off and on

The show is over, the thrill has gone

Lonely night I count to three

And wish that you were here with me

But oceans move, waves disappear

And I awake and you’re not here

Country fair lights spin and flash

Reminds me of our distant past

When the moon went up in a pitch black sky

Only to sink on the other side

The stars appear to do what they please

But they always fall eventually

I close my eyes and count to three

And wish that you were here with me

And maybe it was never meant to be

What went on between you and me

But years have passed, I count to three

The love is here and will always be

And now the snow falls on the ground

And Mother Earth has made her rounds

The trees are bare and the air is cold

And my heart is growing old

Winter wind blow through the trees

Put my lonely heart at ease

‘Cause the rivers flow into the sea

I wish that you were here with me

I close my eyes and count to three

And I wish that you were here with me
